H.E. Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia

Bahlil Lahadalia currently serves as the Minister of Investment/Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of the Republic of Indonesia.

The man who was born in Banda, August 7, 1976 is one of the Ministers in the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Volume II Working Cabinet. Previously, he entered the cabinet as the Chairman of BKPM of the Republic of Indonesia. Then on April 28 2021, he was appointed Minister of Investment/Chairman of BKPM of the Republic of Indonesia by President Joko Widodo.

He has a background as an entrepreneur, in which at least 10 companies are owned and have employed thousands of workers. He also served as General Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) for the 2015-2019 period.

Born into an underprivileged family, Bahlil’s steps did not stop him from continuing to actualize himself to help build the country. The man who now has 4 children graduated with a master’s degree at Cenderawasih University, Jayapura.

Bahlil has had expertise in running the organization since he was young. It has been proven that he has held several important positions, namely as Student Council Chair in 1994; Chairman of the Senate when he was a student at STIE Port Numbay, Jayapura, Papua in 1998-1999; became General Treasurer of PB HMI in 2002-2004.

His career at HIPMI does not happen overnight.. Before succeeding in sitting at the top of HIPMI’s national leadership, Bahlil had already worked at the Regency/BPC level and had become General Chair of the BPD HIPMI Papua Province in 2008 followed by becoming Chair of the Infrastructure and Property Sector of the Central BPP HIPMI Service Period 2011-2014.
