Oskar Henkelman

Oskar Henkelman is Credit Risk & Export Finance manager for Boskalis (Netherlands), an international contractor in dredging and maritime services.

Boskalis daughter Smit Salvage unblocked the Suez Channel in 2021 and is currently working with UNDP to prevent a massive oil spill off coast in Yemen. Boskalis company Horizon Geosciences (Sharjah) is a renown marine surveyor.

Boskalis is currently executing landmark projects such as land development works for Manila International Airport (Philippines), reclamation works for Gulhifalhu (Maldives), port developments works for Neom (KSA), coast protection works in Togo & Benin for the WorldBank, and is also working on many offshore wind parks under construction in Asia, Europe and USA as transporter, heavy lift installer or subsea cable installation company.

Oskar has been involved in securing ECA supported finance for the Manila and Gulhifalhu works as well as for Boskalis’ vessel “Krios”. He holds a MSc in Business Economics and has previously worked with Atradius DSB, JLT Insurance brokers (Australia), LG Electronics and Coface.

Since 2016 Oskar has been a driving force in developing a partnership between ICIEC and Boskalis, resulting in ICIEC’s (re)insurance support to ca ten Boskalis projects in Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, Maldives, Senegal, UAE, as well as a continuous dialogue between the partners to further develop ICIEC products to suit cross border infrastructural works.
