H.E. Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser

Chairman, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser served as an Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Saudi Council of Ministers and Chairman of the General Authority for Competition from 2016 to 2021.  He also served as the Minister of Economy and Planning and Governor and Board Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), the Saudi Central Bank. In addition, he was a member of several ministerial councils, boards, and committees, including the Council for Economic Affairs and Development, the Supreme Council for Civil Defense, the Board of Directors of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund, the Higher Committee for Hajj (Pilgrimage) Affairs and the Ministerial Environmental Committee, among many others.   

Academic Life 

Dr. Al Jasser obtained his M.A. (1981) and Ph.D. (1986) in Economics from the University of California. Earlier, he received his B.A. in Economics with honors from San Diego State University in 1979. Dr. Al Jasser gained a wide range of leadership experiences in the public and private sectors, having held senior positions in several institutions.

He served as the Alternate Governor for Saudi Arabia at the IMF, the World Bank, and the Islamic Development Bank, as well as Vice Governor and Vice Chairman of the Board of SAMA, Deputy Minister of Finance and National Economy, IMF Executive Director, Chairman of the GCC Monetary Council, Member of the Governing Body of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Saudi Telecom Co. (STC), Chairman of the Board of the Arab Investment Company and Chairman of the Council of Islamic Financial Services Board.   

Participation In G20 At All Levels 

Dr. Al Jasser participated in the G20 summits and meetings at the ministerial, governors, and deputies levels. Moreover, he participated in the monthly and annual meetings of the Bank for International Settlements over the period 1997-2011.  In addition, Dr. Al Jasser took part in several local and international symposia and gave lectures on economic and monetary policy.

Mr. Oussama A KAISSI is the Chief Executive Officer of The Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit, ICIEC, the Export Credit, Political Risk Insurance, and Credit Enhancement arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group. Mr. KAISSI, a finance & economics graduate from Indiana University in the USA, has thirty-six years of diverse experience in the Insurance and Risk management industries. Having worked in the USA, Middle East, and Africa, he has vast and diversified exposure to different markets, cultures, and business models. He is the founding President and Chief Executive Officer of two publicly listed Insurance Companies in the UAE and served as the Regional General Manager for Arab Insurance Group, a Pan-Arab Reinsurance Company. Mr. KAISSI is The Secretary General of Aman Union, a professional forum assembling Commercial & Non-commercial Insurers & Reinsurers from the 57 Member Countries of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He has authored various industry articles, serves in an advisory capacity for Graduate Business Programs of two Universities in the OIC region, served as a Board member of CIBAFI - The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, Regional Takaful and Financial institutions; and the Chairman of the OIC Investment Trade and Promotion Agency.

H.E. Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol

Chief Executive Officer, ITFC   Acting Chief Executive Officer, ICD  Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol is the CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and the Acting CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD). He has more than 35 years of experience in Development Banking, serving in a variety of technical and leading positions across the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group.  Before assuming his current roles, Eng. Hani accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience while holding diverse leading positions including Deputy CEO ITFC and Acting Chief Executive Officer at Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC).  Eng. Hani is a Saudi National, who obtained an Associate of Arts Degree from Marymount California University, USA; bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bluefield State University, West Virginia; and master’s degree in Engineering Management with honors from George Washington University, USA.  In addition, he obtained several distinctive Executive leadership development programs at Harvard University, USA, and London Business School England.

Adly Mohamed

Adly Mohamed is currently the Chief Commercial Officer of the Halal Development Corporation Berhad (HDC). He joined HDC in 2020.  In HDC, Adly is overseeing five (5) revenue generating departments for HDC namely Halal Training Institute (HTI), Halal Consultancy & Advisory (HCA), Halal Park (HP), Halal Integrated Platform (HIP) and Halal Event Management (HEM) where he is responsible for developing commercial and business development strategies in pursuit of achieving overall corporate and commercial goals.  Prior to joining HDC, he has more than 25 years working experience holding positions such as CEO and COO with various industries including tourism, hotels, service sector, consultation and trading. He specializes in turning around management and companies, business development, project management, productivity and cost improvement, and managed to achieve profits and revenues for these companies. Other than his contribution to Malaysian companies such as Tabung Haji, his experience stretches out to Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, Jakarta, Bangkok, Dubai, Prague, Melbourne, among others.  Adly holds Masters in Business Administration and Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Kent State University, USA.  

Afdhal Aliasar

Afdhal Aliasar is an Islamic Economy and Finance practitioner and Islamic Philanthropist. He is now a Director of Halal Industry in the National Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance, Republic of Indonesia (KNEKS). After accomplishing his degree from the Faculty of Engineering in Universitas Indonesia in 1997, he started his professional career in the banking industry by joining Executive Management Training at Bank Niaga where he engaged in various fields of banking and investment. Later on, he continued his career by joining Citibank N.A., responsible for Global Transaction Services Business while also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management at Prasetiya Mulya Business School. He was entrusted to establishing a subsidiary, Citigroup Securities Indonesia, in the Citigroup Global Market, and served as Vice President, Head of Operations Indonesia. In 2011, he was entrusted to reactivate Nomura’s securities business and served as the Vice President, Head of Operations of Nomura Asia Ex-Japan before retiring from the investment and capital market industry in 2016. His interest in Islamic finance and Islamic economy made him pursue the industry by continuing to explore knowledge and expertise in various places, including Master of Islamic Finance Practice (MIFP) INCEIF Malaysia, Durham University UK, and Islamic Finance Qualification/IFQ – Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment/CISI, UK. In 2016, Afdhal established PT. Pengelola Aset Islami Indonesia, and as a founding director, he directly takes part in various Islamic economy development and Islamic business projects that are directly associated with the real economy sector. Afdhal pioneered the productive waqf scheme that is applied to business assets which fosters the sustainability of its business and benefits. Afolabi Obisesan

Afolabi Obisesan, Senior Manager, Guarantees and Specialised Finance, based in Cairo. Afolabi has been involved in funds raising activities of the Bank as well as structuring several guarantees and specialized finance transactions in the Bank. He has over 15 years banking experience. Prior to joining Afreximbank, He was Team-Lead-Project and Structured Finance Department in Access Bank. he held various positions in Access Bank where he worked for 10 years. He holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho Nigeria, as well as  MBA degree in Finance from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Oyo. He has attended several technical and leadership courses in London Business School and Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.

Amadou Hott

A seasoned, dynamic, rigorous, result oriented Executive, Hott has 24 years of international experience in Government-led economic policies, Development finance, Investment banking, Sovereign wealth fund management, Capital markets and in green infrastructure finance, he has a thorough understanding of challenges hindering the growth of developing countries. Amadou Hott is the Special Envoy of the President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) on the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa since November 2022. Until his appointment, Hott was Senegal’s Minister for Economy, Planning and Cooperation. During his tenure, he helped maintain Senegal’s position as a leading economy in West Africa, helping prevent the recession during the covid 19 pandemic and mobilizing over USD 8 billion of financing for the Government. He spearheaded landmark economic reforms, including the reform of the PPP framework. Further, before joining government, Hott was AfDB group Vice President for power, energy, green growth and climate change. Amadou held various Investment banking and Investment advisory positions in New York, London, Dubai and Lagos. He was Director of Millennium Finance Corporation for Africa in Dubai, Chief Executive Officer of UBA Capital in Lagos and the Founder and former CEO of Senegal’s Sovereign Wealth Fund where he launched major infrastructure investment initiatives, including renewable energy projects. Hott holds an Associate degree in Applied Mathematics from Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France; a bachelor’s degree in Economics; and a master’s degree in Financial Markets and Banking Management from Sorbonne University, Paris. In 2012, the World Economic Forum nominated him as a Young Global Leader.

Ameen Al Saadi

Mr. Amin Al-Saadi is the Chief Investment Officer of Halal Products Development Company (HPDC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund. With an outstanding track record in the banking and investment sectors, Mr. Saadi previously served as Assistant Director of Investment Banking at SAMBA Group. Mr. Saadi has also held the position of Chief Financial Advisor with Al Rajhi Bank, in addition to a senior appointment as Director of Investment Banking at the same bank. Mr. Saadi holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from the Applied Science University and a master’s degree in Management from Coventry University.

Amer Bukvic

Amer Bukvić is the Acting Director General - Global Practice & Partnerships Directorate (DG-GPP) at the Islamic Development Bank. Amer leads the Bank’s product and strategic direction in the areas of public and private financing and knowledge products. He builds upon the existing relationships with major developmental partners such as Arab Coordination Group, MDBs, UN system and private sector partners such as corporates, philanthropists, and foundations to augment the Bank’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Amer consolidates all sector and thematic level strategies to contribute to the formulation of Bank’s overall strategy. Amer is also a seasoned Islamic Banker having served as the CEO of Bosna Bank International (BBI) for over 15 years. During which BBI was the fastest growing bank in B&H, positioning itself among the top six performing banks. BBI assets increased eleven times. He also co-founded the Sarajevo Business Forum (SBF), the largest international investment conference in South-East Europe, and Sarajevo Halal Fair. Amer has a BA from the International Islamic University in Kuala Lumpur (1996), and a Master’s degree from the International University of Japan (1998). He completed postgraduate executive education with London Business School (2004) and Said Business School of Oxford University (2014).

Arshad Mohamed Ismail

Arshad Mohamed Ismail is the President and Chief Executive Officer of EXIM Bank of Malaysia, a role he assumed in August 2022 after his three-year stint at another Development Finance Institution – Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (the Development Bank of Malaysia) – as its President / Group Chief Executive Officer. Arshad is an experienced multijurisdictional banking and finance professional with expertise in corporate banking, debt capital markets, Islamic finance, asset management and development finance. He has worked in several jurisdictions and different types of organisations, making him a highly adaptable and perceptive professional. A lawyer by qualification, Arshad found his calling in the field of banking and Islamic finance early on when he became a pioneering member of CIMB Islamic in Malaysia in 2003, with an initial business focus on Sukuk transactions, earning the bank a name for ground-breaking Islamic finance deals. He lists Bank Pembangunan, Maybank Islamic, Al Hilal Bank (UAE), Aayan Capital (Saudi Arabia) and HSBC Amanah (UAE) amongst the organisations he has served in various leadership and management roles. Arshad is a certified Chartered Banker with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers and the Chartered Banker Institute. He was elected to the SC-OCIS Fellowship in Islamic Finance at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies in 2015. He holds a degree in law from the International Islamic University, Malaysia and a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School.

Cornelia Meyer

Cornelia Meyer is a business consultant, macro-economist and energy expert as well as a media commentator. She is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MRL Corporation and Chairman and Chief Economist of LBV Asset Management. MRL provides et altera the Chief Economist and CIO services to the (European Family Office) EFO-Alliance, Europe’s premier platform for family offices. The company also advises a multitude of multilateral organisations and multinational corporations on a wide range of geo-economic issues. Ms Meyer’s experience stretches over five continents on a vast range of assignments and projects as an economist, a financier, adviser, regulator, manufacturer and principal in the energy and other industries. Her particular focus are emerging markets. Cornelia started her career in Japan, where she became the economic policy adviser to the Honourable Yoshiro Mori, then Minister of International Trade and Industry. Afterwards she held several senior positions in energy, development and investment banking covering Asia, Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East out of Tokyo, Manila and London for institutions such as UBS, the ADB and Citigroup. Cornelia’s career became more broadly industry based when she joined General Electric and later moved to BP as a senior executive. In 2010 she founded MRL Corporation, which is an advisory firm. Ms Meyer served as the Chairman and then Strategic Advisor to the Board of Gasol plc, at the time an AIM listed independent gas (to power) company. Cornelia held various non-executive board memberships in commercial enterprises and not for profit organisations, such as the Royal United Services Institute, the UK’s premier think tank for defence and security. She also used to chair the business and economic group of a US government funded “Track II” diplomatic mechanism for Middle East Security. Cornelia is a member of Oxford Energy Policy Club and serves on the Advisory Boards of the Istanbul Finance Summit and Euromoney. She was a member of the World Economic Forum`s Global Agenda Council for Energy Security. The World Economic Forum has subsequently identified her as a thought leader in geo-economics. Ms. Meyer also acts as Special Adviser, Europe to the International Energy Forum, the world’s largest multilateral energy organisation by member countries. Cornelia has a strong media presence, as a commentator and guest presenter on various business and political TV news stations. These include: the BBC, CNN, CNBC Arabia, and Bloomberg. Cornelia writes regular columns and Op-Eds for various publications. Cornelia also shares the major macroeconomic column on Swiss National Public Radio with the chief economist of UBS and the head of the Competition Authority of Switzerland. Cornelia was educated at the St.Gallen University, the London School of Economics and Tokyo University. She speaks seven European and Asian languages.

Dr Marco Tieman

30+ years of experience in different sectors concentrating on areas like strategic planning, governance and management consulting, real estate development, investment and financial technologies.  Currently, Abdulrahman is the Chairman of Saudi Cable Group, and Medal Cables Group Ltd. Vice Chairman. Furthermore, he is the founder and Chairman of Qarar Sukuk Fintech Company and Building Technologies and Real Estate Development Association, and is CEO of AIA Consultancy Firm.  He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from University of Gloucestershire with more emphasis on government and private sector partnerships mainly in creating and implementing the proper environment for government policies to be implemented.   He holds Masters degrees from the University of Akron, OH, he completed his Bachelor studies in Business Administration at King Saud University in Riyadh. His research interests are mainly on government and private sector partnerships with more attention to strategic planning, governance consulting, real estate investment and development, and Sukuk fintech. 

Dr. Mohammed Alyami

20+ years of experience in different sectors with the most in Evaluation and Development Impact. Currently, Mohammed is the Director of the Development Effectiveness Department. Mohammed worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School in 2017-2018. He holds a Ph.D. in Evaluation from Western Michigan University (WMU) with an emphasis on evaluation standards and program evaluation. He holds two Masters degrees, one in Marketing Management (2002) from the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh, and the other in Human Resources Development (2008) from WMU. In 1999, he completed his Bachelor studies in Business Administration at King Saud University in Riyadh. His research interests are development effectiveness, impact evaluation, and evaluation standards. 

Dr. Rabah Arezki

Rabah Arezki is a Senior Fellow at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Prior to that he was Chief Economist and Vice President, Economic Governance and Knowledge Management at the African Development Bank and the Chief Economist for the Middle East and North Africa Region at the World Bank, Chief of the Commodities and Environment Unit in the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund and a non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution. Mr. Arezki’s research covers a wide array of topics including the macro development of resource rich countries, energy and the environment, competition policy, the economics of Africa and the Middle East, institutions, human capital, innovation and economic growth. Mr. Arezki received his M.S. from the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique in Paris , M.A. from the University of Paris-1 Pantheon-Sorbonne and Ph.D. in economics from the European University Institute. 

Eng. Abdullah AlRakhis

Abdullah Alrakhis is a Saudi Arabian industrialist, investor, venture capitalist, public policy expert, and philanthropist. He studied in Oxford and MIT, obtaining degrees in Civil Engineering, project management, public policy, and an MBA. In addition, he completed the 2015 and 2016 Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education programs on Leading Economic Growth. He is the chairman of the National Development Program, the Health Transformation Cluster Board, the Regional Development Program, the Vision Leadership Development Program in Saudi Arabia, and board chair and member of several public and private institutions, universities, think tanks, and NGOs, including Oxford International Advisory Board and Singapore National University Council. He was previously a member of the Harvard Kennedy School Dean’s Council as well. He serves as chief strategist, public policy expert, transformation lead, and advisor in several programs and institutions. He has been active as an investor, entrepreneur and venture capitalist in a portfolio that exceeded ten billion USD across telecommunications, IT, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure.

Eng. Nasser Al Thekair

Nasser Al Thekair is the General Manager of the Trade & Business Development Department at The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, since 2017. He is responsible for leading the trade promotion and facilitation arm of the ITFC, growing the intra-trade among MCs, and enhancing the development impact. Additionally, He leads ITFC’s efforts to develop new business lines and products, foster innovation, and build strategic relationships with key development partners to create new markets and mobilize resources for ITFC’s trade development initiatives. Nasser Al-Thekair joined the IsDB in 2000. He held the position of Assistant General Manager of the Corporate & Structured Finance Department, with the responsibility of overseeing all ITFC trade finance transactions for the Middle East and North Africa where he has grown to become a business portfolio of more than US$ 2.2 Billion. His main achievement in Islamic Finance relates to supervising the structuring of several transactions that won international recognition from Islamic Finance News, Euromoney, and Global Trade Review. In addition to his work in the ITFC, Nasser holds various executive and board membership positions in several companies, he is a board member of the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) since 2019, a member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Africa Trade Bridges Program (AATB), and the Trade Development Fund (TDFD), also, he represents ITFC on the board of Aid for Trade Initiative for the Arab States (AfTIAS), as well the Board of Governors of AATB program. Nasser holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from King AbdulAziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Leicester School of Management, United Kingdom. Eng. Sayed El-Wazir

Mr. Sayed Abdel-Khalek Al-Wazir – Board Member at the Arab Contractors Company  One of the few consultants in the field of designing and execution of bridges, tunnels, public buildings and infrastructure projects for more than 25 years in Egypt, Africa and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  Previously he has been the Arab Contractors bridges and foundations sector head and project manager for several mega projects.  One of the most sophisticated and mega projects that Eng. Fahad Al Nuhait

Mr. Fahd Al-Nuhait serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Halal Products Development Company (HPDC), a whollyowned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund. Throughout his career, Mr. Nuhait has thrived in the finance and project management spaces, working for a number of leading Saudi corporations. Mr. Nuhait has held the position of Head of Industrial Investment and Funding at NEOM, Director of Investments for Emerging Sectors with the Saudi Arabian Industrial Investments Company (Dussur) and was also previously appointed as Head of Investments for the Arab Investment Company. Mr. Nuhait holds a bachelor's degree in finance and financial Management Services from King Saud University, as well as a master's degree in finance from Newcastle University. Fatih Yilmaz

Fatih Yilmaz works as Research Fellow in Climate and Sustainability program at KAPSARC. His current research agenda focuses on energy transitions and the climate finance nexus.  In the past, he has served as an economist at the Central Bank of Turkey and worked as a consultant for different international and governmental institutions, such as the World Bank. He has authored various academic and policy articles, which appeared in prestigious journals and media outlets. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Calgary. 

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat

H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat has been Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation since December 2019, and has previously served as the first female Minister of Tourism (Jan 2018 -Dec 2019). Al-Mashat enjoys more than 20 years of international experience in central banking, financial systems, monetary policy frameworks, sustainable development, climate finance, and international cooperation policies and strategies. As a co-founder and a member of several advisory boards, international alliances and societies, Al-Mashat pushes forward partnerships and multilateralism as key enablers to accelerate sustainable development, climate action and gender equality. Managing the country’s partnerships with numerous bilateral and multilateral development institutions, she ensures the alignment and synergies of development finance and activities across different economic sectors. Her previous roles at the IMF, working with governments in the Middle East & Central Asia, Africa and Asia, expanded her expertise of development systems and structural reforms in developing and emerging economies. Al-Mashat has several publications in monetary policy, financial stability and instructional reforms. In her capacity as Minister, she represents Egypt as Governor in several international financial institutions, including the World Bank Group, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, and Arab Bank for Economic Development; and as Alternate Governor of Egypt at the African Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and Islamic Development Bank. Al-Mashat is a member of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) GenU Global Leadership Council, Founding Member of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), and Member of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Mission Possible for Climate Action, Co-Chair of the MENA Stewardship Board (WEF); and Member of the New Economy and Society Stewardship Board (WEF). There were several board affiliations, including the Egyptian Stock Exchange, the Egyptian General Authority for Free Zones and Investment, the Arab International Bank, the Arab Investment Bank, and the Middle East Economic Association. In June 2021, Al-Mashat launched a book titled “Stakeholder Engagement Through Economic Diplomacy” for London School of Economics. She contributed several chapters to the International Monetary Fund’s book, titled, “Advancing the Frontiers of Monetary Policy”, published in 2018 and edited by Maurice Obstfeld the Chief Economist at the time. Moreover, she pioneered an international inclusive and consultative process to translate climate pledges into implementable projects in developing countries and transition economies, producing the “Sharm El-Sheikh Guidebook for Just Financing”, which presents an actionable agenda for all relevant stakeholder listing their roles in achieving just financing outcomes, and maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing climate finance architecture. Al-Mashat received several international and domestic awards and recognitions; the “2022 Most Visionary and Outstanding Minister of International Cooperation in Africa” Award by the Institute for African Studies Elliott School of International Affairs George Washington University and the GE7 Initiative; the “2019 Global Champion Award” from the World Tourism and Travel Council for launching the Egypt—Tourism Reform Program that has created resilience to the sector; the “2019 Global Leader’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry”, as the Ministry of Tourism has contributed the most to the global travel and tourism industry in 2018 and 2019 as Egypt’s tourism revenues recorded a new historical high; the “2019 United Nations World Tourism Organization Destination Marketing Award”, for best promotion video for a destination; and the “2019 Leadership in Tourism Award” from the International Institute for Peace and Tourism. She was selected among the top 50 most influential women in the Egyptian economy in 2015; the 2014 and 2015 “Choiseul Institute 100 Africa: Economic Leaders for Tomorrow”; the 2014 Young Global Leaders (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF); the 2014 top 10 most powerful women in the Egyptian Banking Sector. She was also selected to the Government of France’s 2013 International Visitor Leadership Program; the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award, School of Business, American University in Cairo (AUC), and the 2004 Ibn Khaldoun prize for the best paper on one or more Middle Eastern countries given by the Middle East Economic Association. The paper titled “Monetary Policy and Public Debt Management: An Empirical Assessment of the Egyptian Experience”. Al-Mashat received her PhD an MA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, and BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo (AUC). He has over 27 years of experience in the private and public sectors inside KSA and abroad with leading global organizations in the fields of banking services, and manufacturing. his last position in the private sector was the Chief Operating Officer of the Saudi British Bank before he moved to the public sector and served as the Vice Minister of Transport from April 2017 to May 2018, and more recently as the President of the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) where he managed 9 commercial and industrial ports in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has a proven track record of exceptional achievements in optimizing operational and financial performance in both sectors. Under his leadership, the Saudi Ports Authority witnessed significant performance improvement proven by globally tracked indexes and became among the top five ranked globally in container handling. H.E. led a privatization operation worth more than 16 Billion SAR. He serves in several roles and has a membership in the boards of many local and international entities such as HSBC-Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Company for Exchanging Digital Information (Tabadul). Additionally, he is a member of various committees in private and public sectors . H.E. Alkhalb holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and has attended several advanced training programs in the fields of strategic planning, financial management, bank credit, and corporate financing .

H.E. Mohamed EL KETTANI

Since his appointment in 2007 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Attijariwafa bank, Mohamed EL KETTANI has overseen the development of the banking and financial services group, both at domestic and regional levels, to its current status as North Africa’s leading bank and the seventh largest in Africa. An engineering graduate of ENSTA Paris, Mohamed EL KETTANI began his banking career in 1984 when he joined Banque Commerciale du Maroc (BCM). He has held a number of positions in the bank’s various banking and finance divisions. In 2004, he oversaw the merger between BCM and Wafabank which resulted in the establishment of Attijariwafa bank, culminating in his appointment as the bank’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Under his chairmanship, Attijariwafa bank successfully implemented several strategic plans which has seen the Group consolidate its position as the market leader in the Moroccan market and become a leading bank on the African continent. The Group currently has operations in 26 countries, including 15 countries in Africa. It has the largest branch network in Africa with 5,835 branches and 20,590 employees. Mohamed EL KETTANI is also Vice-Chairman of the Moroccan Bankers Association and director of several companies. Mohamed EL KETTANI received the Officier de l’Ordre du Trône decoration from His Majesty King Mohammed VI as well as Senegal’s Commandeur de l’Ordre National du Mérite, Ivory Coast’s Commandeur de l’Ordre National du Mérite and Officer of the French Legion of Honour. He is married and father to three children.

H.E. Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia

Bahlil Lahadalia currently serves as the Minister of Investment/Chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) of the Republic of Indonesia. The man who was born in Banda, August 7, 1976 is one of the Ministers in the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Volume II Working Cabinet. Previously, he entered the cabinet as the Chairman of BKPM of the Republic of Indonesia. Then on April 28 2021, he was appointed Minister of Investment/Chairman of BKPM of the Republic of Indonesia by President Joko Widodo. He has a background as an entrepreneur, in which at least 10 companies are owned and have employed thousands of workers. He also served as General Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) for the 2015-2019 period. Born into an underprivileged family, Bahlil's steps did not stop him from continuing to actualize himself to help build the country. The man who now has 4 children graduated with a master's degree at Cenderawasih University, Jayapura. Bahlil has had expertise in running the organization since he was young. It has been proven that he has held several important positions, namely as Student Council Chair in 1994; Chairman of the Senate when he was a student at STIE Port Numbay, Jayapura, Papua in 1998-1999; became General Treasurer of PB HMI in 2002-2004. His career at HIPMI does not happen overnight.. Before succeeding in sitting at the top of HIPMI's national leadership, Bahlil had already worked at the Regency/BPC level and had become General Chair of the BPD HIPMI Papua Province in 2008 followed by becoming Chair of the Infrastructure and Property Sector of the Central BPP HIPMI Service Period 2011-2014.

H.E. Mr. Sami Ibrahim Alhussaini

His Excellency Mr. Sami Al-Husseini was appointed Governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises "Monshaat" in August 2022. Mr. Sami Al-Husseini holds an Advanced Diploma in Leadership from IMD in Switzerland, a Bachelor's degree from King Saud University in Public Relations, and a number of specialized and leadership certificates from MIT and London Business School. Al-Husseini held several positions, including serving as Deputy Governor for Planning and Development at the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monshaat" from December 2019 to August 2022, where he worked in planning and developing Monsha'at's strategy. He was the CEO of Riyadh Airports Company from February 2018 to December 2019, and before that he was the Executive Vice President of the Commercial Sector in the same company from May 2017 to January 2018. He also held several leadership positions in the public and private sectors. He is a member of a number of boards of directors, including: member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for Development, member of the Board of Directors of the Social Development Bank, member of the Board of Directors of the National Competitiveness Center, member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Business Center, member of the Board of Directors of the Industrial Council, member of the Financial Sector Development Program Committee, member of the Housing Program Committee.

H.H. Prince Waleed Al-Saud

Hairol Ariffein Sahari

Hairol Ariffein Sahari is the Chief Executive Officer of Halal Development Corporation Berhad (HDC), an agency under the purview of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia (MITI), established to serve as the custodian of Malaysia’s Halal economy and to spearhead the development of Malaysia’s integrated and comprehensive Halal ecosystem and infrastructure. Hairol Ariffein hails from the royal state of Johor in the south and holds a Degree in Biotechnology from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), a leading research university in Malaysia. He is an Associate Fellow of Malaysia’s eminent management university, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Malaysia (CILTI). His career and experience spanning two decades is dedicated to serving in industry development initiatives lead by the Government, commencing with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in 2003, as an Assistant Director responsible for investment promotional activities and industrial support services. In 2005, he served with Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation (BiotechCorp), a Government agency responsible for implementing initiatives under the National Biotechnology Policy 2005 - 2020 to develop and promote Malaysia’s biotechnology industry. Hairol’s success in BiotechCorp paved the way for his next career, as a pioneer team member in the Northern Corridor Implementation Agency (NCIA) to establish, oversee and promote the economic and social development of Malaysia’s Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) initiative. He commenced his service with HDC in 2010 and specialized in project planning and monitoring of Government developmental programs for the Halal industry. Key strategic initiatives successfully implemented by Hairol include the development of a National Halal Policy, implementation of the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 and establishment of Malaysia’s Halal Industry Development Council (HIDC) in 2020. These accomplishments and his strong commitment to HDC saw him rise in rank to the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2021. He is sits in the Halal Research and Development (R&D) Commercialization Fund Approval Committee managed by the Government agency, Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) and serves as mentor, facilitator and advisor to university students and residents in UPM’s CEO@PTJ Program. Hairol is an avid cyclist, a dedicated, loving father of two and has completed the Master of Business Administration Program under Asia School of Business (ASB), which is a collaboration program between the Central Bank of Malaysia (BNM) and prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management, United States of America.

Hamzah Kassim

Dr Hamzah Kassim career spans global consulting firms, government and enterprise founder and brings 35 years of experience in advising leaders in  strategy, business transformation, and public policy across the region. He is the Co-founder of iA Group, a holding company with interest in a professional services providing a range of services in strategy ,public policy, consulting and digital transformation. Prior to iA Group he was Executive Director/ Partner of the international firm of Ernst and Young, Country Head and Vice President of the global consulting firms of Cap Gemini and Partner  of PA Consulting Group UK . He is currently Chairman of Hong Leong Islamic Bank, board member of Hong Leong Bank ,a Malaysian  regional bank  with presence in Singapore, Vietnam ,Cambodia and China .He is  member of  Board of Trustees of Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) which is think tank focusing on emerging economic issues including the development of  Islamic digital economy and national  Innovation system . Dr Hamzah had served many national committees and was member of the National Economic Advisory Council (NEAC) and had held various senior positions in the government. He had also served several expert panels in Islamic Development Bank Isdb  in technology ,education and led a special  advisory project on setting up of ICD.

HE. Dr. Ghassan Alsulaiman

Founder and Chairman of ALSulaiman Group. Member and Chairman of the board in a number of companies in the private, government and non-profit sectors. Previous board member in the Social Development Bank, the Privatization Center, Monshaat, Savola Group, AL Maraei Company and Arabian Cement Company among many others. He has a great passion for entrepreneurship, and this led him to become the first governor of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises in 2016. Before that he was the first to establish a business accelerator to support startups in the Kingdom and headed the Center for Small and Medium Enterprises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeddah. He also founded and headed Venture Capital Bank, Venture Capital Investment Company and Unaizah Investment Company all of which had a focus on investing in startups and early stage ventures. His second passion is the education sector, where he is currently involved with several universities and training companies. Last but not least he is also passionate about developing the Saudi private sector. He is now in his second term as chairman of the National Family Business Center which represents two thirds of all companies in the Saudi private sector and served previously in many different roles relating to chambers of commerce among which were the following : Chairman of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce ; Co-chairman of the USA Arab Chamber of Commerce ; Chairman of the Saudi-Turkish Business Council ; Chairman of the Saudi-Malaysian Business Council ; Chairman of the Saudi-Swedish Business Council and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Development of the Saudi Chambers of Commerce. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in addition to an MBA from the USA plus a Doctorate degree in Systems Thinking in 2004 from Hull University in the UK and a graduate professional degree in Business Economics from Harvard University in 2020.

Husein Kavazović

Dr. Husein ef. Kavazović is the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a position he has held since 2012. The Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the sole and unique community of Muslims living in Bosnia and Herzegovina, of Bosniaks living outside their homeland and other Muslims who accept this community as their own. The Meshihat of the Islamic Community of Sandžak, the Meshihat of the Islamic Community of Croatia and the Meshihat of the Islamic Community of Slovenia are all constituents of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He received his primary education in his hometown of Gradačac, and completed his studies at the Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa in Sarajevo in 1983. He studied at the Shariah Faculty of AlAzhar University in Cairo from 1985 to 1990. He defended his master's thesis and doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo, specializing in the field of Islamic law. He gained work experience as an imam, khateeb, and teacher in mosques in Srebrenik and Gradačac. He served as the Mufti of Tuzla from 1992 to 2012. As the Mufti of Tuzla, he made a significant contribution to the restoration and functioning of the Tuzla Mufti Office and the Behram-bey Madrasa, the introduction of religious education in primary and secondary schools, and the revival of the Hikmet newspaper. During this period, he served multiple terms as the President of the School Board of the Behram-bey Madrasa in Tuzla. He played a key role in the construction of the Behram-bey Library in Tuzla. He is one of the initiators of the Center for Rehabilitation of Psychoactive Substance Addicts in Smoluća near Lukavac, the first institution for the rehabilitation of addicts within the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together with his colleagues, he worked on the establishment and development of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification within the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a frequent guest in all major cities, both in the Muslim world and in the West, where he meets with top religious, academic, and political officials. He has received several awards, from honorary citizenship to Personality of the Year. During his tenure as the Mufti of Tuzla and the Grand Mufti of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he participated in numerous scientific conferences in the country and abroad. He is the author of several books and studies in various areas of Islamic sciences, particularly Shariah and comparative law.

Ihsan Ovut

Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT was born in Malatya/Turkey in 1966 and completed primary, secondary and high school education in his hometown. In 1985, he started to study in the Department of International Relations of Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University, completed the BSc International Relations programme and graduated from the college in 1989. Then, he began to work at the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) at the Department of Bilateral and Multilateral Agreements in 26 August 1991. During his term of office under this Department for 9 years, he followed standardization activities of various international organizations and conducted the meetings of these organizations in Turkey. Furthermore, he was actively involved in managing bilateral cooperation between TSE and national bodies of relevant countries and in organizing official visits. In 24 January 2000, he was appointed as the Director of Agreements and Foreign Relations Directorate and during his term, he conducted and supervised all international agreements of the TSE, visits of foreign delegates, relations with Turkic Republics, Islamic Countries as well as TSE Foreign Representation Offices. As he was the head of foreign relations, he carried out all correspondences of TSE with ISO and relevant organizations at both technical and administrative level and he has an ongoing good relations with the staff of the national standards bodies.   Following his successful tenure as the Director of several Directorates between the years 2000-2011, he was appointed as the Head of Training Department of the TSE which was formed in 2012. He worked hard to improve the existing infrastructure by amending regulation framework and preparing all relevant guides in order to have a centralized system. While he was assuming his duties as the Head of Training Department until 14 December 2014, he was elected as the Secretary General of Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) in the 7th SMIIC General Assembly Meeting held on 19 November 2014.   His term of office as the Secretary General of SMIIC officially started on 15 December 2014 and he completed his first term by 2017. Upon his nomination again, İhsan ÖVÜT was unanimously re-elected for the term 2018-2020 and is still on active duty as the Secretary General.   Throughout his career in TSE and SMIIC, Mr. İhsan ÖVÜT organized several regional/international meetings, drafted and signed cooperation agreements, took part in official international visits and delivered presentations in various events as the head of delegations, besides, he made major contributions to the preparation process of SMIIC Statute under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and has led the development of OIC/SMIIC standards and also carried out projects in ECO-Region and Eurasia Region. During his term in SMIIC and under his leadership, various projects and tasks have been successfully accomplished including the restructuring of the Institute, revision of all internal regulations along with the founding Statute, formation of halal conformity assessment system, OIC Global Halal Quality Infrastructure, improving technical infrastructure of SMIIC as well as making SMIIC Technical Committees more active and more professional. His approach for SMIIC relies on institutionalization of professional administration of SMIIC on both technical/administrative and he is working intensively to accomplish this goal.   He is married with 2 children and speaks English.

Kenan Jusufspahic

Kenan Jusufspahic is the Lead Investment Officer in Islamic Development Bank’s (IsDB) Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Division, Country Operations Directorate, Operations Complex. Kenan is a technical lead for the PPP Division’s investment team that looks after the origination of new non-sovereign operations, respective negotiations, due diligence and execution of financing documentation.   Kenan joined the IsDB in August 2014 as Young Professional and gained experience in Funds’ and Sukuk investments before being confirmed in PPP Division in October 2016.   Before joining IsDB, Kenan worked for Bosna Bank International (BBI), an Islamic commercial bank in Bosnia & Herzegovina (B&H), since March 2009. There he gained experience in Corporate Banking, Treasury Operations before heading the Office of the CEO.   Kenan holds BSc. in International Economics from University of Sarajevo, B&H and MBA from Henderson State University, Arkansas, USA. Kenan is a national of Bosnia & Herzegovina. He is married and has three children.

Latifa El Bouabdellaoui

Mrs. Latifa El Bouabdellaoui is the sixth Director General of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade, ICDT. She assumed her duties on February 1st, 2020. Before her appointment, Mrs. Latifa El Bouabdellaoui held the position of Director of International Trade Relations at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy of the Kingdom of Morocco from April 2013 to February 2020. Her career at this Ministry was strongly marked by her active participation in the definition and implementation of the national strategy of international trade. She was the Kingdom of Morocco’s chief negotiator for several Economic Partnership Agreements, including the Agreement with the European Union and the Agreement on the AfCFTA. From 2009 to 2013, Ms. Latifa El Bouabdellaoui was, respectively, Head of the Mechanical and Metallurgical Industries and Offshoring Departments at the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and New Technologies. She contributed to the development of the country’s industrial strategy and the monitoring of large-scale investment projects, as well as to the promotion of cooperation relations between Morocco and its foreign partners including international and regional organizations in charge of trade and industry affairs. Since joining ICDT, she has been working on the promotion and facilitation of trade and investment in the OIC region and has been striving to provide private actors and institutions operating in trade and investment in the OIC Member States with a value proposition that would enable them to upgrade their capacities up to international standards and facilitate their access to global trade and investment markets. Similarly, she spares no effort to support the 57 OIC Member States, by providing them with the necessary programs and tools for their development, both in partnership with regional and international stakeholders. Mrs. El Bouabdellaoui relies on innovation and new technologies to promote ICDT as a reference institution in the field of trade and investment promotion in the OIC region.

M Asheque Moyeed

Asheque has two decades infrastructure & project financing experience in the emerging markets. During this period, he has been involved with infrastructure & energy projects in Asia, Africa & the Middle East. Asheque with his team successfully financed wind, solar and hydropower projects in different countries. Asheque currently heads the Banking Department of ICD. Prior to joining ICD in 2018, he worked at IsDB’s PPP Division where he had joined in 2010. Mohamed Ali Merchaoui

Dr. Mohamed Ali is an executive-level for Halal Product Development Company (HPDC) appointed as Managing Director to oversee the Halal Product Advisory (HPA), the company's advisory arm. A food security expert with decades of strategic leadership in the Halal food industry, Dr. Mohamed has previously held executive roles in Emirates Business Group’s Food Division, Al Hashimiya Group, Americana, the Islamic Organization of Food Security (IOFS) and DMCC. Mohamed EL Ansary

I’ve got my bachelor degree from Faculty of Commerce — Major Accounting on May 1996, after that I’ve started my career in the banking sector in which I’ve spent almost 12 years. I've worked in 3 banks in the corporate finance field; Egyptian American Bank (AMEX Bank affiliate) as a Credit Administration Officer, then Arab Bank as a Corporate Credit Relationship Assistant Manager & finally in Barclays Bank as a Corporate Credit Risk Manager. During this period I gained a great experience in most of the banking operations & activities of different departments (i.e. corporate finance, trade _ import & export L/Cs, remittance ...etc.) in addition to the financial & economical analytical skills which I've gained after passing the Credit Certification Course. I’ve succeeded in finalizing several major corporate financing deals with different multinational & large corporate in which I’ve gained good managerial, negotiation & communication skills. After leaving the banking sector, I’ve started my career in the corporate field by joining Egyptian Cement Company on October 2007 as a Treasury Manager. The company was acquired by Lafarge Group 3 months later, so for 4 years I’ve handled the treasury duties for cement line of business only. Once Lafarge group decided to change the organization structure during 2012 to be country based instead of regional based structure, I’ve been appointed as a Country Head of Treasury & Insurance. Later on I moved to Orange Egypt on October 2017 as a Country Head of Treasury & Corporate Finance. Finally, I’ve joined Elsewedy Electric Group on November 2018 as a Group Treasury & Corporate Finance Director.

Mohammed Alsayed

Mohammed Alsayed is the Manager of the Public Private Partnership Division at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) responsible for the development, structuring and delivery of the Bank’s PPP portfolio across IsDB’s 57 member countries. Prior to his current role, Alsayed was the Manager of the Economic Infrastructure Division leading the development of the Bank’s polices and strategies for Energy, Transport and ICT interventions in member countries. Alsayed has more than 20 years of experience in designing, implementing and financing infrastructure projects in public and private sector. He occupied multiple positions in IsDB including the Manager of Energy & ICT Division and Manager of Transport Division responsible for sovereign projects financing and implementation. His career is focused on delivering integrated solutions and improving infrastructure projects efficiency. He is member of the UN Technical Advisory Group on SDG7, member of the Sustainable Mobility for All (SuM4All) Steering Committee and member of the MDBs Infrastructure Cooperation Platform. Prior to joining the IsDB in 2005, Alsayed worked with Motorola in Dallas, Texas in the United States. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University, USA and a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA.

Mr. Nurul Ichwan

  • Mr. Nurul Ichwan is Deputy Minister for Investment Promotion at Ministry of Investment/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). Ministry of Investment/BKPM oversees implementing policy and service coordination in investment and the focal point that connects all investment sectors and stakeholders in the country. As the primary interface between business and government, the ministry is mandated to boost both domestic and foreign direct investment by creating a conducive investment climate.
  • Mr. Nurul Ichwan has been serving Ministry of Investment/BKPM for 24 years in various positions in investment planning and promotion. He was the Director of Indonesia Investment Promotion Center in Singapore and London. Between 2018 and 2020, he served as Director of Regional Investment Promotion Facilitation and Director of Investment Planning for Services and Economic Zones.
  • In 2020-2022, Nurul held position as Deputy Chairman for the Investment Planning. His responsibilities included developing national investment plan, also preparing Investment Projects Ready to Offer (IPRO) and investment opportunities map in Indonesia. Since May 2022, he has been serving as Deputy Minister for Investment Promotion who is in charge of formulating promotion strategies and coordinating promotion programs.

Ms. Fatimetou Bellamech

Ms. Bellamech joins APIM after having held the position of Director of Business Support at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania. With 13 years of experience in private sector development, Ms. Bellamech is passionate about topics related to business formalization, good governance and digital and entrepreneurship issues. She holds a double professional master's degree in Management and Information Systems and Networks, from the University of Tours and Gaston Berger in Saint Louis. 

Muhammad Imaduddin

Muhammad Imaduddin is currently the Portfolio Manager of PPP Division at the Islamic Development Bank since 2014. Highly experience in managing the PPP portfolio of the Bank during the implementation and operation of the projects in IsDB member countries. His portfolio exposure is mainly in the area of power, energy, petrochemical industry, transportation and social infrastructure. Prior to this, he was a professional at Bank Muamalat Indonesia for 6.5 years with the last position as Team Leader of Syndication. He holds a master’s degree in Islamic Banking, Finance, and Management from Loughborough University, UK and a bachelor’s degree in management from IPB University, Indonesia.

Dikko is an economist with over 40 years of industry experience and an outstanding track record in business leadership across a range of businesses and technologies, operating at Board and Senior Executive levels. Oskar Henkelman

Oskar Henkelman is Credit Risk & Export Finance manager for Boskalis (Netherlands), an international contractor in dredging and maritime services. Boskalis daughter Smit Salvage unblocked the Suez Channel in 2021 and is currently working with UNDP to prevent a massive oil spill off coast in Yemen. Boskalis company Horizon Geosciences (Sharjah) is a renown marine surveyor. Boskalis is currently executing landmark projects such as land development works for Manila International Airport (Philippines), reclamation works for Gulhifalhu (Maldives), port developments works for Neom (KSA), coast protection works in Togo & Benin for the WorldBank, and is also working on many offshore wind parks under construction in Asia, Europe and USA as transporter, heavy lift installer or subsea cable installation company. Oskar has been involved in securing ECA supported finance for the Manila and Gulhifalhu works as well as for Boskalis’ vessel “Krios”. He holds a MSc in Business Economics and has previously worked with Atradius DSB, JLT Insurance brokers (Australia), LG Electronics and Coface. Since 2016 Oskar has been a driving force in developing a partnership between ICIEC and Boskalis, resulting in ICIEC’s (re)insurance support to ca ten Boskalis projects in Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, Maldives, Senegal, UAE, as well as a continuous dialogue between the partners to further develop ICIEC products to suit cross border infrastructural works.

Perry Warjiyo

Perry Warjiyo is the incumbent Bank Indonesia Governor for the 2018-2023 period. Prior to his appointment as Bank Indonesia Governor, Perry Warjiyo served as Bl Deputy Governor from 2013-2018. Perry Warjiyo also held the position of Assistant Governor for Monetary, Macroprudential and International Policy after serving as Executive Director of the Economic Research and Monetary Policy Department of Bank Indonesia. Before returning to Bank Indonesia in 2009, Perry Warjiyo was assigned as Executive Director for two years in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), representing 13 member countries under the auspices of the Southeast Asia Voting Group from 2007-2009. Perry Warjiyo has enjoyed a long and brilliant career at Bank Indonesia since 1 984, with a focus on economic research and monetary policy, international issues, organisational transformation and monetary policy strategy, central banking education and research, foreign exchange and external debt management, as well as the Office of the Governor. His passion for knowledge has fuelled his love of writing, having published several books, journals and papers on economics, the monetary sector and international issues.

Selim Bora

Summa International Construction Group, Chairman Selim Bora holds a BSc degree in Metallurgical Engineering, from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara and MSc degree in Industrial Engineering from the Alfred University, New York. In 1989 Summa Inc. was established by the visionary and prominent construction magnate, the late Mr. Mete Bora to carry out overseas contracting operations. Selim joined the family business in 1993 as Business Development Manager in Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. In 1995 Selim was promoted as Regional Manager of Summa for the Russian Federation, based in Moscow and in 1999 became the Chairman of Summa. Summa’s corporate modus operandi is based on out-of-the-box thinking, ingenuity, quality and client satisfaction. Its track record for design, build, operate, and turn-key contract delivery capabilities speaks for itself. Summa operates in 14 countries across 4 continents with particular know-how and focus in Sub-Sahara Africa predominantly in; Equatorial Guinea, Senegal, Rwanda, Congo Republic, Niger, Benin, Sierra Leone and Democratic Republic of Congo. Under Selim’s leadership, Summa has been ranked as ENR Top 225 International Contractors for the past 18 years. Apart from construction, today Summa is active in real estate development, hospitality, healthcare, energy and mining sectors. Furthermore, Selim’s belief in the future of Africa has led Summa to become one of the most prolific principal investors in the continent, with investments in airports, hotels, shopping malls and residential real estate. Selim is passionate about philanthropy and acts as the Chairman of non-profit Akyurt Foundation which focuses on eldercare. Currently acting as the President of the Turkish-Rwanda Business Council under Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK); he is also serving as an advisory board member of the Richard Attias & Associates and previously held the positions of Deputy President at Turkish Contractors Association and Board Member at European International Contractors Association. In 2018, he won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and is the recipient of Republican Presidential National Order of the Rank of Commander from the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Niger and the Republic of Congo. Fluent in Turkish, English, French and Russian.

Shashank Rath

Shashank Rath is a Partner with Synergy Consulting, wherein he leads the transport and social infrastructure verticals. He has experience of nearly 20 years across a variety of transactions across PPP/ project finance, M&A advisory, strategy and business planning, equity and debt raising, feasibility assessment, etc. Shashank has worked across multiple geographies, across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He has worked for clients both in the public and private sectors, the profile of which includes developers, private equity funds, government-related entities, banks and DFis. Shashank has closed transactions of over USD 6.0 billion (mainly long-term non-recourse debt) over multiple projects and M&A deals of cumulative value over USD 1.0 billion. He has been a speaker on different forums and also written articles sharing his experience and knowledge of infrastructure and PPP projects. 

Susan Olsen

Susan Olsen lead’s ADB’s Private Sector Financial Institutions (PSFI) Unit for Mekong, based in Bangkok, Thailand and is former ADB PSFI Unit Head for South Asia based out of New Delhi India.  In those roles Susan leads the origination and structuring of ADB’s innovative Climate and Inclusive Finance capital markets/debt, equity, and blended finance structures with private sector financial institutions. Prior to joining ADB, Susan was Lead Specialist for the InterAmerican Development Bank’s flagship initiative to scale high impact inclusive private sector business models in housing, health, basic services, agribusiness and financial services. She has held prior roles as Investment Specialist with AIG-GE Capital Latin American Infrastructure Fund and  Regional Manager, Latin America with the Export Development Corporation (EDC).  Susan holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, as well as Masters Degrees from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (Canada) and the College of Europe (Belgium). She is certified by the Canadian Securities Institute,.

Tayyab Ahmed

Senior Research Analyst, London Stock Exchange Group  Tayyab is a Senior Research Analyst at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). As part of the Islamic Finance research team, he helps produce various thought leadership and foresight reports as part of the Islamic Finance research team.  Tayyab has almost a decade of professional experience and was previously an Associate Director of Strategy in Malaysia for Ernst & Young (EY), where he focused on government strategy, team and stakeholder management, and mentoring associates.  Tayyab holds an MPhil from Cambridge, LLM from London School of Economics, and the CISI’s Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ). 

Walid Sarieddine

Walid Sarieddine has over 25 years’ experience across advisory, corporate and investment banking and has been a specialist  in Islamic Finance and MENA debt markets for the last 15 years. Walid has recently moved to SMBC DIFC Dubai where he is now  Head of the Islamic Finance Window and actively involved in the coverage and execution activities in the GCC. He had joined SMBC in London in 2009 and led a successful effort to enable SMBC to offer its clients various debt and treasury products for asset, project, corporate and trade finance across multiple sectors including Infrastructure, Energy, Transport Financial Institutions with an additional focus to offer such products in a Sharia compliant structure.  He also worked closely with the advisory team and took a lead on building relationships with various financial institutions and multilateral organizations including the Islamic Development Bank Group with whom the SMBC Group has forged a solid and diversified business relationship including an active  MOU with ICIEC . He also continues to actively support the DCM activities of SMBC Group leading to a fast-growing role in the Sukuk markets. Prior to joining SMBC he spent over 4 years at a European bank based in London as Head of the Islamic Finance unit and part of a highly active  MENA debt origination team focused on underwriting and distributing  in the syndicated markets for corporates and financial institutions.

Yves Jacob

Yves is heading a global coverage group in charge managing the bank’s relationships with public sector entities. The coverage team he leads is responsible for developing full-service long-term relationships with sovereigns, central banks, sovereign wealth funds, supranationals and other central and regional public authorities. He acts as the senior representative for Société Générale towards these institutions. In his previous role, Yves established and developed Société Générale’s debt capital markets platform for the Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong. Prior to moving to Asia, he held various roles in the areas of financing and capital markets, helping corporates raise capital in both private and public debt markets. Yves holds an MBA degree from ESSEC business school.
